Which state has the most nonviolence-related hate crimes?

NEW YORK — New York State has the highest rate of hate crimes against LGBT people and people of color, according to a new report.

The report, released Monday by the Anti-Defamation League, found that there have been at least 20 anti-LGBT hate crimes in the state since January.

Nearly half of those are targeting transgender people, and the state has seen the most reported hate crimes since February.

In all, more than 2,100 hate crimes have been reported since January 1, the ADL reported.

It also found that the state saw a sharp spike in hate crimes after a man killed two people in New York City on January 29, with a third of those cases coming from Queens.
