The Cox Communications service interruption is affecting millions of Canadians and the telecoms company is scrambling to repair the problem.
The outage is affecting about 1.5 million homes in the country, including 1.1 million in Calgary.
It also affects millions of other people in the Calgary area.
The company says it is working to restore the service and that it is currently working to provide a phone service in the affected area.
Cox says it expects to restore service to its customers by early next week.
It has been advised to contact their nearest Cox Canada customer service centre.
The incident occurred Tuesday evening when a computer connected to the Cox network was experiencing an issue with a file system.
The company said it was able to restore its network to normal operation.
Cisco says the outage affects about 15 million customers.
